Cocoa content at least 52%), HAZELNUTS (Piedmont HAZELNUTS, HAZELNUT paste), cocoa powder. May contain traces of PISTACHIOS, ALMONDS, other NUTS and MILK. Gluten-free. Ingredients sourced from the EU and non-EU countries. Store in a cool, dry place.

There are only a few desserts as well known as this Italian truffle speciality: The Sweet truffle originate in the city Alba in the Italian region Piedmont. Tartufi dolci have been known there since the 18th century. But what do truffle chocolates actually have to do with Truffles to do?
The answer is: The Origin! The city of Alba in Italy is known for real truffles, meaning the aromatic truffle mushroom. A clever pastry chef from Alba then came up with the idea of creating a sweet truffle: made from chocolate and the famous Piedmont hazelnuts (IGP). In the past, the Sweet truffle similar to misshapen real truffles. Meanwhile, the shape has changed to a more rectangular one. This was done by the manufacturer Antica Torroneria Piemontese as typical tartufi shape has been made known.

Is the Tartufo Dolce Nero the original?
No, the Tartufo Dolce Nero is not the original. The original is the Tartufo Dolce Classico, sometimes referred to simply as „Tartufo Dolce“. The Tartufo Dolce Nero is also often called „Tartufo Dolce extranero“ and is with the Sweet White Truffle the second resulting variety.

What makes the classic
The main difference between Tartufo dolce nero and other varieties of tartufo lies in the ingredients. While the traditional chocolate truffle consists of regular chocolate, cocoa and hazelnuts, Tartufo Dolce Nero contains darker chocolate and a higher cocoa content. This gives the praline a very dark brown, almost black colour (hence „nero“ = Italian for black).

Ingredients and taste characteristics of the Tartufo dolce extranero
Tartufi Dolci are made from a few simple ingredients: mainly Hazelnut pieces, Hazelnut paste, Cacao and dark chocolate. The chocolate is melted and mixed with the hazelnut pieces and hazelnut paste until a smooth mixture is formed. Finally, the chocolate truffle is pressed into its mould, dusted with cocoa powder and lovingly packaged by hand.
You should store the Tartufi Dolci Neri in a cool, dry place away from direct light (up to max. +18° C).

One of the most important characteristics of the classic is the use of dark chocolate of the finest quality. Despite the high cocoa content, this speciality is incredibly creamy and simply melts on the tongue.
